The idea to use a cow skull in combination with flowers &#8220;painted on&#8221; came across my mind.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/supereliot.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/kuhsch\u00e4del_72dpi_detail_S1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-725\" title=\"kuhsch\u00e4del_72dpi_detail_S\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/supereliot.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/kuhsch\u00e4del_72dpi_detail_S1-494x494.jpg\" width=\"494\" height=\"494\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First I wanted to make a print or just paint this Idea. But then X-stitch made sense in my brain. I created the design in Photoshop by hand, meaning picking each colour and setting the pattern myself. I hate automatically, computer generated patterns by the way &#8211; in my opinion it needs the aesthetic decision of a human to reduce form and colour for embroidery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/supereliot.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/embroider_cow_skull_colours_S.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-722\" title=\"embroider_cow_skull_colours_S\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/supereliot.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/embroider_cow_skull_colours_S-494x361.jpg\" width=\"494\" height=\"361\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am really happy with the result and think it turned out really cool. Maybe it is the combination of archaic tradition, the display of a dead animal skull in combination with the old tradition of X-stitch what makes it so beautiful &#8211; without the granny-cute aftertaste.<\/p>\n<p>Size is 80x80cm on high quality canvas.
